Balfour Beatty Vinci JV seeks suppliers for HS2 jobs

HS2 Ltd main works contractor Balfour Beatty Vinci JV (BBV JV) is looking to appoint suppliers for civil and ground engineering work in the West Midlands.
The first contract (MWCC North – Sub Lot 1 – Tallington Civils) is for construction and civil engineering work at the Tallington site, with BBV keen to engage with “civils contractors of a range of sizes”.
The contract will start on 10 September 2021 and conclude on 31 December 2026.
The second job (MWCC North - Sub Lot 1D – wall contaminated ground removal) is also for construction and civil engineering work.
Specifically, BBV is looking to engage with the ground remediation supply chain for excavation of contaminated ground material and disposal to muck bin area, along with placement of stabilising material. ....

HS2 ‘sheriffs’ to keep contractors in check
HS2 Ltd is to deploy 13 senior leaders along the line’s Phase One route between London and the West Midlands to ensure that its contractors comply with assurances it and the Department for Transport have made.
HS2 Ltd chief executive Mark Thurston revealed that the roles have been created to ensure better alignment between HS2 Ltd’s construction pledges and its contractors’ actions.
The announcement was made at a government cross-party transport select committee meeting in which MPs, local councillors and senior environmental figures called for independent “sheriffs” to ensure contractors working on HS2 are kept in check. ....
