Investment to the tune of Rs 30,000 crore is expected to be pumped into developing DREAM City on 685 hectare land
Surat: Battered by the pandemic last year, the Diamond City is hoping for a brighter future riding on three projects that are already refuelling the city’s growth. The Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City, Tapi Riverfront Development (TRD) and Multi Modal Transport Hub will prove to be game changers, civic body officials claim.
The city has already started retelling its fortune story with the development of Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) in DREAM City. “Many diamond industry workers in Mumbai are looking for residential properties in Surat to shift in the future. It is a major project that will give a big boost to the city’s economy,” municipal commissioner, Banchhanidhi Pani told TOI. ....

The authorities might start trial runs of the country s first ever metro rail service in July as the first train is expected to arrive in April, officials said.
Although the overall progress of the project was only 56.94 percent as of January, the metro rail authorities said they were working hard to meet their target of launching the service in December this year.
Officials will be able to tell whether that target can be met after examining the trains, said MAN Siddque, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL). ....

As UP Diwas begins, all eyes on Noida | Noida News

NOIDA: UP Diwas (UP Day) celebrations began in Noida’s Shilp Haat on Sunday with Shiv vandana and cultural programmes. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will visit the city on Monday and spend around two hours here.
While Noida International airport and the Film City are the highlights of the district, projects worth over Rs 30,000 crore, including Heritage Corridor, Logistic City, apparel, furniture, MSME parks, Multi-Model Logistic Hub, Multi-Model Transport Hub, data centre, mobile and white goods hubs etc. are also on display. Besides, the CM will lay the foundation stone for around 40 projects worth Rs 295 crore on the occasion.

Lucknow, Jan 02: Greater Noida will soon become the hub of world class multi-model logistics. Built at a cost of about Rs 7,725 Crore, the Multi-Model Logistic Hub (MMLH) and the Multi-Model Transport Hub (MMTH) will write a new story of development of Uttar Pradesh in the coming time.

Centre Approves Krishnapatnam Industrial Corridor Node At Rs 2,139 Crore

NEW DELHI: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved three proposals from the Department of Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), which includes two Industrial Corridor nodes in Krishnapatnam and Tumakuru at estimated cost of ₹7,725 cr.
The Krishnapatnam Industrial Area in Andhra Pradesh will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,139.44 crore and around 98,000 persons are estimated to be employed in the first phase.
The objective of Industrial Corridor Programme is the creation of greenfield industrial cities with sustainable, ‘plug n play’, ICT enabled utilities to facilitate the manufacturing investments into the country by providing quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure to industries, the CCEA said in a press release. ....
