Environment: Two Burnley firms have joined forces to help the Ribble Rivers Trust A COMPANY that recycles IT equipment has joined forces with an environmental trust to create a cleaner, greener place along the River Ribble. Burnley based RecycleIT works to collect and resell computers from businesses and schools around the country and aims to ensure that they are put to good use rather than ending up in landfills. Expanding its environmentally minded mission, the Manchester Road based company has now partnered with the Ribble Rivers Trust and Crow Wood Hotel and Spa to plant trees and raise money to help protect the environment around local rivers. ....
THE ENVIRONMENTAL trust that works to preserve the River Ribble has announced a partnership with two of the UK s youngest gin distillers. The Ribble Rivers Trust says that the partnership with No.1 Fairham Gin will see the distillery firm, run by Lancashire-based Liam Stemson and Ellis McKeown, buying a tree sapling for every bottle sold through the retail market. Each of these tree saplings will be planted by the Ribble Rivers Trust across the county. Mr McKeown said: We are very proud to be joining forces with Ribble Rivers Trust in their decade-long campaign which hopes to double the area of woodland across Lancashire. ....
A LOGISTICS company will be helping to fund a drive to plant half a million trees across Lancashire This comes as Chorley-based TVS Supply Chain Services partners with the Ribble Rivers Trust on a project known as Lancashire Woodland Connect. The campaign aims to plant 500,000 trees in the county over the next decade. Comapany CEO Andrew Jones said: “TVS SCS were pleased to be supporting Ribble Rivers Trust by planting trees at Crow Wood in Burnley as part of the Trust’s initiative in woodland creation to tackle carbon emissions and support a healthier environment.
