ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) All New Mexicans age 16 or older who wish to be vaccinated against the coronavirus now have a chance to receive their shots, as Monday marked the start of expanded eligibility under the state Department of Health’s distribution plan.
The timeline for getting more shots out to the general public was sped up under a directive by the Biden administration to make all adults in the U.S. eligible by May 1. State officials also said they opened up eligibility because providers in some parts of the state were no longer able to find people to fill appointments. ....

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Anita Massari remembers when her young daughter started talking about the novel coronavirus.
“Airdrie came home from pre-K and said, ‘There’s a virus that’s in China that’s going to be scary, ” Massari said.
Airdrie, 5, was going to school four days a week at the time and her mother recalls picking her up on a Thursday in March and never going back. ....

Indeed, this demands a celebration. Be it a victory dance or just everyone applauding the spirit, it makes the moment even more special.
One such instance caught the internet s fancy and it is winning hearts as well. Recently, A 4-year-old girl named Stella Martin was discharged from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences hospital. As she is going towards the exit on her wheelchair, the healthcare workers stand on each side and applaud her recovery. She was accompanied by her parents and one of the workers was pushed her wheelchair. ....
