Industry people believe that the cut in duties and taxes in Budget 2021-22 is an integral part of the new Auto Development Policy 2021-2026 and some more relief measures are on the cards when the new auto policy will be unveiled. ....

String of price cuts came after govt unveiled tax incentives in new policy

After Pak Suzuki Motor Company and Indus Motor Company, KIA Lucky Motors, Honda Atlas Cars and Hyundai Nishat have also announced reduction in prices of their vehicles in order to pass on the benefit of tax withdrawal to consumers.
On July 7, the federal government announced tax incentives under the new auto policy, which have now sparked a string of price cuts by the auto companies.
Honda Atlas Cars reduced the price of Civic 1.5 RS Turbo by Rs135,000, which dropped from Rs4.7 million to Rs4.56 million. ....

KARACHI: As the auto assemblers anticipate jump in vehicle prices on account of spiralling raw material prices on world markets, another cost pressure has emerged following removal of export tax rebate by China on 146 kinds of steel products from May 1, 2021.
At the analyst briefing held last week, Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL) and Indus Motor Company (IMC) cautioned about price hikes in vehicles.
