Area senior dances
Senior dances will be 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at the Waukenabo Town Hall with music by Jerry B.; and 1-4 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the Deerwood Legion with music by Two For The Road.
Sunday dance planned at Backus American Legion
BACKUS Monthly Sunday dances return to the Backus American Legion July 18, when Frankie Lamb’s Frankly Country Band appears from 2 to 5 p.m.
Playing classic country, pop, old time and swing, the band makes its first appearance of the summer that Sunday and then will return for afternoon dances Aug. 15, during the Backus Corn Fest weekend, Sept. 19 and Oct. 17 and New Year’s Eve. ....

March was Minnesota FoodShare month. The Pine River Area Food Shelf received numerous donations from businesses and private donors in our community.
If you sent a check for any amount, we thank you. If you put change in one of our numerous jars in the community, we thank you.
Pequot Tool & Manufacturing sent a generous donation of $7,500 as did the Backus American Legion. The Crow Wing Power Community Trust Board donated $3,000 and the Ideal Community Service Organization sent a generous check for $1,000. ....
