Several animal welfare organizations in Loudoun have partnered to offer an $8,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for recent cat shootings in the area, the Loudoun Community Cat Coalition announced Thursday.
At least 10 cats have been shot in Loudoun County this year, five of which have succumbed to their injuries.
Loudoun County Animal Services offered a $3,000 reward earlier this month, to which the LCCC, Humane Society of Loudoun County, 4 Paws Rescue Team, Friends of Homeless Animals and PetConnect Rescue have each pledged to add $1,000. Someone knows who is shooting the cats, LCCC President Tom Bove said in a prepared statement. Please come forward with information to help stop these cruel acts. Do the right thing. We must stand together as a community and never, ever tolerate animal cruelty.
