A graceful certificate distribution ceremony was arranged for the students from Kazakhstan who successfully completed a four-week special certificate course, organised by the Department of Urdu, Faculty of Languages, National University of Modern Languages (NUML). Rector NUML Major General (r) Muhammad Jaffar was chief guest while Director General NUML/Pro-Rector Resources & Planning Brig Muhammad Badr Malik, Pro-Rector Academics Dr Safeer Awan, Dean faculty of Languages, Dr Shahid Siddique, Director Administration Brig (r) Ahmad Salman, HoD and faculty members of Urdu Department also attended the event.
The Rector encouraged the students and expressed hope that they would act as ambassadors of Pakistan. The Rector also appreciated the Faculty of Languages and the Department of Urdu for putting together a successful course. He also distributed certificates and souvenirs among the participants. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Tuesday to promote linkages between industry and academia and undertake joint research initiatives for the benefit of the industrial sector. The MoU was signed by President ICCI Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and Pro-Rector, Research & Strategic Initiatives (R&SI) Dr M Zubair Iqbal during a ceremony held at NUML University. Islamabad: The department of International Relations of National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad organized a seminar to commemorate the international Women’s Day, illustrating the pivotal role of women and their continued struggle for nation building in Pakistan.
In this connection, several distinguished speakers spoke on the august occasion. Prof. Dr. Safeer Awan, Pro Rector Academics NUML said, “Women’s movement is divided across the ideological spectrum. But the good thing is that all women come together on international women’s day.” He also said biases against the women are more deep rooted in language and culture. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Embassy of Ukraine in Islamabad will organize a Conference to mark the 150th Celebration of “Lesya Ukrainka” at the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) in Islamabad on Thursday.
The event will have speeches by the Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture Division Shafqat Mahmood, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Pakistan Markian Chuchuk, and the Chairman PAL Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Professor Dr. Soofia Yousaf, and Professor Dr. Safeer Awan among other dignitaries.
