Belize is now allowing vaccinated travelers to enter the county without having to present a negative
COVID-19 test. The new health order, which became effective at the end of February, states that travelers who enter Belize through the airport and provide proof of COVID-19 immunization are no longer required to present a negative test result for entry. For instance, vaccinated travelers can present the
COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card as proof that the vaccine has been administered at least two weeks prior to arrival.
Non-vaccinated travelers are still required to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 96 hours (four days) of travel or a negative rapid Antigen test taken within 48 hours of travel to Belize. If passengers fail to present a negative PCR or antigen test, one will be performed at the airport at the traveler’s expense of $50. Additionally, Beli ....

Good news for travelers to the
Caribbean:
COVID-19 vaccination program, following the donation of 100,000 doses of the
Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine from
India. It adds, with over 25,000 people approximately 12.5 percent of the adult population already receiving their first shots within just two weeks, the island leads the way as the most vaccinated country in the Caribbean.
The first wave of vaccinations was distributed to frontline workers, including those in the tourism sector, as well as the vulnerable population, including the elderly and persons with comorbidities. Now, all citizens over 18 are coming forward to get their first dose of the vaccine.
The interesting part is this: To ensure widespread protection, the Government of Barbados has signaled its intent to obtain more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for persons on island, whether they are citizens or not, by the end of April or early May 2021. ....

John Lovell, Arnold Donald Talk Cruise Restart, Vaccines and Alaska

Gradual U.S./Global Restart
“Unfortunately, when we do restart as an industry and as a company, it’s not going to be a light switch,” Donald stressed. “It’s not going to be, ‘the ships, well, now they’re all in.’
Instead, he said: It will be a gradual introduction a layered approach of adding ships back in phases as all the destinations aren’t going to open simultaneously at once,” given differences in regulations and local conditions.
While Donald (shown at right) said he couldn’t predict a restart date, “what I will predict is that certainly by the end of this year, most, if not all, of our fleet, I’m optimistic, will be in action… I think there’s a really high possibility that all of it will be back by early next year, if things continue to progress the way they have.” ....

Alaska Leadership "Shocked" by Canada's Cruise Ship Ban

Seattle via Canada and is expected to have detrimental impacts on Alaska’s economy.
In the letter, the Congress members wrote: We were shocked by the decision announced by your government last week to extend the ban on cruise ships carrying over 100 passengers until February 28, 2022. We are particularly concerned that this decision was made without any forewarning to or consultation with Alaska, your neighbor and partner. Losing access to Canadian ports creates significant disruptions to the cruising season in Alaska, and will have a significant economic impact on our state, which is already suffering from the recession caused by this pandemic. The loss of revenue from tourism for another year will cause extensive economic damage and put at risk the more than 20,000 jobs across Alaska that are reliant on spending from cruise ship passengers. While we agree that safety must be a priority as we make decisions, we are disappointed by the decision to extend the cruise ship ba ....
