A survey conducted two days ago by the dredging contractor, J.F. Brennan Company, Inc. shows the dredging progress in the Main Bay and Dane’s Bay to date.
As reported, over 337,000 cubic yards have been removed from Fountain Lake during Phase 2.
In total, the contractor J.F. Brennan will remove approx. 380,000 cubic yards of sediment this year. This work is expected to be wrapped up by mid-August.
The first phase included removal of over 700,000 cubic yards of sediment out of the Edgewater Bay.
After the second phase of dredging, the third and final phase will complete the Fountain Lake Restoration Project. ....

Shell Rock River Watershed District (SRRWD) made the announcement last week that the Fountain Lake Restoration Project legislation has been introduced in the House and Senate for $7.5 million.
“We are very pleased the bill HF 384 / SF 447 have been introduced in the House and Senate for $7.5 million for the Fountain Lake Restoration Project,” said
Andy Henschel, Administrator for the Shell Rock River Watershed District. “The project is the result of decades of community work to restore and enhance water quality in Fountain Lake, and we appreciate the support of community leaders.” ....
