A Windsor long-term care home hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic’s second wave had its outbreak rescinded on Friday after 177 staff and residents contracted the disease and nearly two dozen died.
During an outbreak that lasted 51 days, Banwell Gardens Care Centre recorded COVID-19 cases among 115 residents and 62 workers, according to the facility’s executive director. Twenty-three of the residents who tested positive succumbed to complications brought on by the disease.
