Town Clerk Kathy Larkin said her office has been busy reminding residents that her office stopped distributing transfer station permits at the start of the year, following a decision to have the Highway and Parks Department handle the permit applications in early 2020. ....

Credit Ken Anderson It was a mostly routine meeting of the Vilas County Board of Supervisors that approved resolutions with little or no debate but board vice-chairman Jerry Burkett, who ran the meeting in the absence of board chairman Ron DeBruyne, gave a lecture to board members. Burkett felt it was time to put the past election in the past and move on. “It’s time to heal,” Burkett said, “the vote is done and it’s a time to heal. It’s time to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and put everything behind us.” He continued by saying “it’s time for all of us to heal and it starts with every one of us, everyone of you, as individuals, to heal.” ....
Beth A. Humphrey, 81, passed away on November 28, 2020, at MorningStar Senior Living Lone Tree, CO following a recent decline in health. Beth was born at home in the small farming town of Garfield, WA, on December 13, 1938 to Dorothy Rice Hanson and Cecil Hanson. She married Bill Humphrey in 1958 and they soon moved to Seattle, WA to start careers and a family. The family moved to the Yakima Valley in 1973 where Bill launched A&B Plastics and Beth worked at Associated Grocers. During their retirement years, they made Sun Lakes, AZ their winter home while returning to Yakima for the summer months. In 2013, shortly after Billâs passing, Beth moved to Castle Rock, CO to be near family. ....

That has been our problem all season, not advancing the runners.” ....
