Heritage Fund awards $60K to local nonprofits

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Heritage Fund-The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County (HFBC) recently awarded $60,000 to local nonprofits from its Community Fund as part of its second-quarter grants cycle.
The Columbus Area Arts Council received $25,000 to support the Sixth Street Arts Alley project. Love Chapel was gifted $22,000 for strategic organizational planning. Servants at Work was awarded $9,000 which will go to building ramps for low-income, disabled Bartholomew County residents. And, Family School Partners received $4,000 to support strategic organizational planning.
Through the generous support of community members, HFBC annually distributes around $650,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations from the unrestricted Community Fund. The money helps meet emerging needs in Bartholomew County in the areas of Youth Development, Substance Abuse, Neighborhood Revitalization, Innovation, and more. ....

Heritage Fund awards more than $65 thousand to local nonprofits

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Heritage Fund-The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County (HFBC) announced Tuesday that it had recently awarded $65,295 in grants from its unrestricted Community Fund to local nonprofit organizations as part of its fourth-quarter grants cycle.
Gleaners Food Bank was given $15,343 to support the Senior Mobile Food Pantry in partnership with the Salvation Army of Columbus. Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation received $17,500 to support the Counseling Counts program. Thrive Alliance was awarded $15,764 for new customer relationship management software and $16,688 to support the new Social Call outreach program for Bartholomew County Seniors.
Each year, through the generous support of community members, HFBC distributes approximately $600,000-$700,000 in grants to local nonprofits from the unrestricted Community Fund. ....

2 Columbus seniors awarded Lilly scholarships

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Heritage Fund-The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County announced on Friday that two local seniors have been presented with the opportunity to attend college for free thanks to the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program.
The two 2021 Lilly recipients are Jadi Miller and Hayley Barr and both attend CSA-New Tech High School.
The scholars receive full tuition for four years, plus $900 per year for books, at an Indiana college or university.
