The Annual Assembly of the Parish Meeting for Underbarrow & Bradleyfield was held on Zoom on Thursday 20th May 2021.
The Chairman Ben Cunliffe gave a brief verbal report.
It had been a difficult year due to the pandemic and all meetings had been held on Zoom, apart from a brief open-air meeting to sign off the accounts in July.
Longstanding problems include the repair of the mushroom on Scout Scar and the condition of the roads in the parish, especially the potholes at Dobby Lane and area. ....

Annual Meeting 2021 – The Clerk commented that current legislation to allow parish councils to hold remote meeting was due to expire on 7 May, and there seemed no prospect of extension.
Since lockdown regulations [GR1] still required remote meetings, it was agreed to hold the Annual Meeting half an hour prior to the regular May Parish Council meeting. It was therefore proposed by Cllr. Emsley, seconded Cllr. J. Mckenzie that it should be held at 6.30pm followed by normal Parish Council at 7pm on Tuesday 4 May 2021.

Warndon councillors debate the future of online meetings

VIRTUAL V IN PERSON: Could Warndon Parish Council’s virtual meetings become a thing of the past?
WARNDON Village councillors have begun the debate over whether they should continue to hold their meetings virtually in the coming months.
The debate at the latest Warndon Villages parish council meeting mirrors the one currently being held nationally across many local authorities.
Emergency legislation passed by the government only allows councils to hold meetings on online video conferencing until May 6. So at the latest meeting of the authority, held on Monday night on Microsoft Teams, parish councillors were informed that due to the legislation running out prior to their Annual Parish Council Meeting, planned for May 10, and annual parish meeting, originally scheduled for May 20, those meetings would need to be held in person at the authority’s traditional home the Lyppard Hub. ....
