New coronavirus mobile community testing site in Rosyth

It opened today and is based at Parkgate Community Centre car park.
The site will provide testing for members of the public without Covid-19 symptoms.
Members of the public can access community testing without needing to book an appointment and there is confidential support available for anyone who tests positive for the virus and needs to self-isolate.
The site is initially open 9am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
Dona Milne, NHS Fife Director of Public Health, said: Community testing sites are available across Fife, providing quick and easy access to testing.
We know that around 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 don’t have symptoms but are still infectious and able to pass the virus on to loved ones, friends and the wider community. ....

A new Covid-19 mobile testing site for those without symptoms has opened in Fife.
Based at Parkgate Community Centre car park, Rosyth, the site is available for all on a drop-in basis without the need for an appointment.
Not everyone with Covid-19 has symptoms but they could still be infectious and spreading the virus to others unknowingly.
By providing testing for the local population and those in surrounding areas, positive cases can be identified and the spread of the virus reduced.
The Rosyth site will also provide confidential support to assist anyone who tests positive and needs to self-isolate. ....

Fife College students roll up sleeves to help with vaccination programme

STUDENTS at Fife College have been playing a key part in the coronavirus vaccination programme after signing up to administer the jag.
Those on healthcare courses were urged to consider signing up as vaccinators to help with the roll-out in the region earlier this year.
After going through training, several students have now been approved to provide the injections at sites across Fife, including East End Park, Oakley and the Parkgate Community Centre.
Jennifer Colling, a student from Torryburn, is one of the students who has qualified as a vaccinator.
She said: “I heard through my lecturers that we could get involved in the vaccination programme and I wanted to help out so I applied to NHS Fife and told some of my classmates to consider it as well. ....

Heavy snowfall again overnight has put paid to efforts to get Fife’s first asymptomatic Covid-19 community testing centre open on time.
The much-anticipated facility within the Maxwell Centre in Cowdenbeath was due to open to the public at 9am on Wednesday morning, but NHS Fife has confirmed it will be delayed as a result of “challenging wintry conditions”.
Members of the public who were planning to travel to the centre have been urged not to, and a further update is expected to be provided on Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson from NHS Fife added: “We apologise for any inconvenience.” ....
