ACT 1 HB 375 Provides relative to sexual assault victims as parties to certain residential lease agreements.
ACT 2 HB 8 Requires the Evangeline Parish Tax Assessor to pay the cost of certain insurance premiums for eligible retirees from the assessor’s office.
ACT 3 HB 12 Creates an individual income tax checkoff for the Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response (STAR) organization.
ACT 4 HB 27 Repeals certain adjudication, reporting, and notice requirements applicable to certain licensing boards and commissions.

Preble County Commissioners recognized May 2-8 as National Travel & Tourism Week with a proclamation during their meeting on Monday, May 3. Members of the Preble County Convention & Visitors Bureau Board were on hand for the proclamation, which was read into the record by Commission President Rachael Vonderhaar.

Johnson City buys portion of historic depot for visitors center

Johnson City now has a home for its new visitors center.
City commissioners voted Thursday to purchase the two-story portion of the old Carolina, Clinchfield & Ohio Railway train depot at 300 Buffalo St. for $750,000 from Beacon Financial Credit Union.
The single-story section, which used to be home to Tupelo Honey Cafe before it closed in 2018, is not part of this deal.
âThe potential for the visitors center is very profound,â Convention and Visitors Bureau Board Chair Andy Marquart told commissioners Thursday.
Marquart said the location makes sense, particularly in light of the nearby development on West Walnut Street and the buildingâs proximity to East Tennessee State University and downtown. ....
