1. Cushioning petrol duty hikes
As part of measures to shift towards a greener and sustainable Singapore for all generations, petrol duty rates will be raised by 15 cents per litre for premium petrol and 10 cents per litre for intermediate petrol.
The Government will set aside $113 million to provide rebates for petrol and petrol-hybrid vehicles, to ease the transition following the hike.
There will be a 15 per cent road tax rebate for owners of private cars for one year, and a 60 per cent rebate for those owning motorcycles. Owners of commercial vehicles will get a 100 per cent tax rebate for a year. ....

Being diagnosed with sensory processing and sequencing difficulties at the end of Secondary One helped Jacqueline Kow understand why she needed more time to process information and understand concepts, compared with her peers.
Yet she did not allow the special educational needs and challenges that came with it to define her or hinder her learning journey at CHIJ Secondary, where she joined the athletics and swimming co-curricular activities, participated in competitions and became a member of the executive committee.
The 16-year-old Normal (Academic) student, who scored a ELMAB3 raw score of fewer than 12 points in her N-levels, told The New Paper: I was not afraid to ask for help and ask questions. SINGAPORE: The results of this year s Singapore-Cambridge N-Level examinations will be released next Thursday (Dec 17) at 2pm, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) said.
Given the ongoing COVID-19 situation, arrangements have been made for school candidates to receive their results in their individual classrooms from 2pm, instead of gathering as a cohort as in previous years. ....
