Thursday, February 11, 2021 Times-Democrat News Staff The Arkansas Department of Health reports the statewide COVID-19 numbers have stabilized, although Clay County recorded a sharp increase in cases in the past week. And although the case numbers have stabilized in Arkansas, the death toll continues to climb and has eclipsed the 5,000 mark. Statewide in Arkansas on Wednesday the total number of cases stood at 309,940, up from last Wednesday s total of 300,430, and an increase of 1,092 in the previous 24 hours. Of those 14,190 were considered still active, down 708 from the previous day as the decline continues. On the other hand, the death toll continues to climb in Arkansas as it stood at 5,174, an increase of 25 in the previous 24 hour period.

Thursday, February 4, 2021 Times-Democrat News Staff As vaccinations continue to be administered to essential and other front-line workers, the numbers of COVID-19 cases have remained fairly steady in Clay County and much of the nation. An additional death was also reported in the past week in the county. Statewide in Arkansas on Wednesday the number of positive cases rose to 300,430, up from 288,964 last Wednesday and an increase of 2,426 in 24 hours. Of those 16,533 were considered still active, up 202 in the previous 24 hours after a recent decline. On the other hand, the death toll continues to climb in Arkansas as it stood at 4,985, an increase of 46 in the previous 24 hour period.

Two additional deaths were also reported in the past week in the county, as the toll climbed over 40. Statewide in Arkansas on Wednesday the number of positive cases rose to 288,964, up from 284,702, on Monday. Of those 17,686 were considered still active, down from last Monday s total of 22,794 and down 472 in the previous 24 hours. On the other hand, the death toll continues to climb in Arkansas as it stood at 4,742, up from 4,343 on the previous Monday s report and an increase of 52 in the previous 24 hour period.
