CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - COVID-19 tests are not always free, and in some areas it can be extremely hard to find a free test.
A viewer reached out to WBRC recently to say she was struggling to find a free test near Cullman.
Once we got that email, we started making calls. and sure enough, finding a free test in that area is hard.
The Cullman County Health Department is offering free testing, but only at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays. ....

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Mainstreet Urgent Care is one of the facilities that received vaccine supply, and has been asked by the state to triple their daily vaccination rate as more and more people clamor to get vaccinated.
Mainstreet Urgent Care facilities in Alabama have the Moderna vaccine, and they’ve been giving them to healthcare workers in Phase 1A for two weeks.
They will add first responders and those over 75 on January the 18th along with the rest of the state. ....

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - As more doses of the COVID-19 vaccines are shipped throughout the country, more facilities are equipped to distribute them under the state’s phased plan.
Mainstreet Urgent Care received the Moderna vaccine which doesn’t require the super cold storage, allowing them to roll out their program today. Urgent care facilities can handle Moderna vaccines, allowing locations like Mainstreet to administer them now.
The first step is on their website.
“Patients who qualify and who are interested can go on and register and select the criteria that they meet to prove they are eligible,” said Becky Stewart of Mainstreet Urgent Care. ....
