Ruby (F2142) was born in 2016 at Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she continues to live with her current mate, Apollo (M2065). Red wolves are assigned a stud book number at birth that is used to identify them in the Red Wolf Species Survival Plan Program (RWSSP). Each year RWSSP leaders meet to discuss possible wolf matches for the upcoming year s breeding season. With a limited gene pool of 14 founder red wolves, it is critical to try to diversify the species genetics through these pairings. ....
