Crusaders midfielder Braydon Ennor will come off the bench in Saturday night s final against the Chiefs in Christchurch.
Braydon Ennor couldn’t wipe the smile from his dial after being named on the bench for Saturday night’s Super Rugby Aotearoa final in Christchurch.
The Crusaders midfielder hasn’t played since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right-knee during the North v South match last September, and wasn’t slated to return until the trans-Tasman competition.
However, he’s ahead of schedule, giving head coach Scott Robertson the luxury of injecting him into the decider against the Chiefs at Orangetheory Stadium. ....

Crusaders thrash Blues to secure home final in Super Rugby Aotearoa

After suffering two
uncharacteristic losses in their past three matches, the Crusaders fired
on all cylinders, scoring four tries to nil as they opened up an
unassailable lead in the regular season.
The Blues failure to
secure even a bonus point means the Chiefs, who they play in the
last round of the regular season next weekend, will fill be the other
finalist.
The Crusaders, in search of a fifth consecutive title,
have 28 points, to head the Chiefs (20), the Blues (15), Highlanders (14) and Hurricanes (seven).

Manasa Mataele keen to remain at Crusaders despite Fijian Drua's emergence

“I’m so excited. Especially for Fijian Drua and Moana Pasifika. It s such a good addition to Pacific Island rugby as a whole. It s a starting point, I m sure they will learn. I ve heard a few players overseas trying to come back for that as well. It s going to be the start of something great,” Mataele said.

Crusaders coach Scott Robertson wants to see more from No 8 Cullen Grace, starting against the Blues in Christchurch on Sunday afternoon.
It’s not that the one-test All Black has been bad. In fact, Robertson believes he’s doing all the simple things well. But he hasn’t made the same impact as he did last year, when Grace earned an All Blacks call-up on the back of his impressive rookie campaign.
Speaking ahead of training on Friday, Robertson admitted they’re “looking for more from him” when asked if the 21-year-old Timaru Boys’ High School old boy had performed at the level he expected from him this year. ....
