BRADFORD, Pa. — When viewers tune in to the 63rd annual Grammy Awards on Jan. 31, they will see a Bradford native among the honorees: Marilyn Horne.
The Recording Academy announced this week that the opera singer is one of the Lifetime Achievement Award honorees.
Matthew Hileman, director of Marilyn Horne Museum & Exhibit Center and adjunct faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, said they are “thrilled” to learn of the award.

Bradford DECA students advance to state competition

The annual DECA District Competition for 2020 went virtual.
Students competed at home during the week of Nov. 30-Dec. 4. Each student logged in to take a 100-question multiple-choice test in their content area and review a case study.
They then had an hour to prepare, record, and share their video response. Those videos were then sent to judges for each category the following week to review and score.
Of the 13 Bradford Area High School students who competed this year, 10 qualified for the DECA State Competition next month, which will also be held virtually.
