Group works to improve Lake Okabena water quality

WORTHINGTON Worthington’s Clean Water Partnership, during its annual meeting Friday, authorized payment to the Okabena-Ocheda Watershed District for ongoing efforts to improve water quality in Lake Okabena.
The group, comprised of two city council representatives, an OOWD manager and one city resident, approved payment of $47,415.35 funds the watershed district expended on carp control activities in the lake. The Worthington City Council had allocated $52,000 to the Clean Water Partnership in 2018 for the work.
“We were not able to do the carp seining last winter,” OOWD Administrator Dan Livdahl told the group in explaining why not all of the funds were used. ....
