Florida counted just more than 8,000 coronavirus cases and 142 deaths Monday, inching the state closer to 25,000 dead from the virus.
It can take officials up to two weeks to confirm and report a coronavirus-related death, meaning the number of deaths added does not necessarily reflect the number of people who died the previous day.
Since the pandemic’s start in March, more than 1.5 million people have been infected. Nearly 70,000 have been hospitalized. ....
