In the spirit of the FSPA provocative movement to build bridges of relationships that stretch us to be people of encounter who stand with all suffering in our Earth Community, and educating ourselves on the intersection of climate crisis, racism, and migration, the FSPA Encuentro@TheBorder group has commissioned a team to respond to an emergency call from Catholic Charities.
According to the request received via the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, “. the 19 Catholic Charities border sites in California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona are all facing the challenges of caring for many families and children. The specific points of entry are fluid. As of now, Laredo, McAllen, Tucson, Yuma, San Antonio, and San Diego are facing significant numbers of arrivals, but that can change tomorrow. Currently, the most urgent needs are volunteers who speak Spanish and financial aid to buy clothes for the children. ....

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A virtual evening of prayer will give community members the chance to reflect.
The Franciscan Spirituality Center is holding the event in response to continued acts of violence and unrest related to race and ethnicity across the U-S.
Prayer, readings and time for individual and group reflection will all be a part of the event.

Franciscan Spirituality Center announces endowment campaign

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- The Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse announces an endowment campaign.
The goal is to raise $3 million to ensure a financially secure and sustainable future for the center.
For nearly 40 years, the spirituality center has been a part of the health of our community with much of the support coming from the Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration.
Now, they’re looking to get the community behind the cause.
The center has played an important role, especially during the pandemic.
“The spirituality center has been able to support people who are really needing connection and needing to have conversations on a little bit of a deeper level to address some of those concerns and just to get the support they are looking for,” said campaign co-chair Barb Kruse. ....
