Ice cream lovers rejoice – popular dessert bar Cold Rock is opening a store in the Somerset region by the end of the week.
Cold Rock has confirmed with the Gatton Star that it will be opening an express site at Fernvale.
The store will be located in the new Metro Petroleum station on the Brisbane Valley Highway, but despite being smaller in size, will still pack a punch with mix-ins and ice creams.
Cold Rock Management CEO Stan Gordon said the express sites were a smaller ice cream display cabinet but still had all the ice cream combinations you’d expect at any other store. ....

LOWOOD police are urging witnesses to come forward after two cars crashed on the Brisbane Valley Highway.

Alleged thieves attempt to torch stolen vehicle, wanted by police

A stolen vehicle has been used in multiple burglaries in the South Burnett region before alleged thieves attempted to set it alight near Toogoolawah.
Toogoolawah police officer in charge Sergeant John Cumner said the stolen vehicle, a dark blue Mitsubishi Triton, was dumped before an attempt was made to set it alight on Cressbrook-Caboonbah Road.
Following the attempted torching, a 2019 silver Landcruiser was stolen from across the road, with the offender entering a property and taking the keys to steal the vehicle.

A man has been seriously injured after a skydiving incident northwest of Brisbane.
Paramedics were called to the Brisbane Valley Highway in Toogoolawah at 11.15am after a trainee skydiver suffered serious injuries following a hard landing with an open parachute.
The man suffered multiple serious injuries including to his pelvis, legs, and arms.
After being treated at the scene the man was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
The Australian Parachute Federation confirmed the man was a trainee skydiver performing the jump with Skydive Ramblers, Toogoolawah.
This was the man’s 12th jump as part of a routine exercise. ....

A man has been seriously injured in a skydiving incident west of Brisbane.
Paramedics were called to the Brisbane Valley Highway in Toogoolawah at 11.15am where the man suffered multiple injuries in a skydiving landing.
He was treated on scene for serious injuries.
He was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition. ....
