SAW MILL FIRE BRINGS OUT FOUR FIRE COMPANIES ON SUNDAY

Four fire departments were called out for a fire at a saw mill Sunday afternoon in Northern Indiana County. Indiana County 911 reported the fire at 12:53 PM. Initial reports say that a shed was fully involved at a sawmill at the intersection of South Elkin and Banks Road between Plumville and Smicksburg. Plumville, Marion Center, Dayton and Rural Valley fire departments were dispatched at the time along with Citizens’ Ambulance. Creekside, Perry Township and Clymer Fire Departments were called in for stand by detail.
This was part of a busy day of calls of different types for Indiana County Emergency Responders. The busy day started at 9:48 AM with a vehicle accident reported on West Pike Road in White Township by Indiana County 911. It was a quiet day for Indiana County first responders on Friday.
Saltsburg Fire Department was called out yesterday at 4:39 PM to a location on First Street in Conemaugh Township for an EMS assist.
Indiana County 911 also reported a traffic crash at 1:23 this morning in South Mahoning Township. State Police and Plumville Fire Department were called out to the crash scene on Route 210. State police have not filed a report on the incident, but Indiana County 911 reports that there were no injuries in the crash.
