Donington parish councillors have been calling for the toilets in the village centre to be improved with the hopes of taking them over for the benefit of residents and visitors. At last weekâs virtual meeting, South Holland district councillor Rodney Grocock told members that the toilets will be refurbished after making inquiries with a senior officer. Coun Rodney Grocock. He said: âAfter the May elections they are planning to do a huge piece of work on all toilets in South Holland. Donington Parish Council wants to know who owns the passageway, which runs between the Sunlight Chinese Takeaway and what was The Peacock pub, in order to get the site repaired. Members of the council agreed at their last meeting to instruct a solicitor to find out who owns this passageway. The public toilets in Market Place are now open on restricted hours, having been closed since March, with the ladiesâ side requiring significant repairs before they would be fit for use.
