Medications for both people and animals will be accepted at numerous schools in an upcoming drug take back day.

Plano residents can dispose of unwanted prescription drugs during the upcoming drug take back day being organized by the Plano Police Department.
All over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs that are unused, unwanted or expired for both people and animals will be accepted. For safety reasons, sharp needles and combustibles such as inhalers will not be accepted, according to a release from the department. ....

Plano students win top honors in all-girls computer programming competition
Three Plano students will receive paid internships as a result of their first-place finish.

Plano students took top honors in a recent Digital Divas 2021 competition. The computer programming competition and workshop designed to introduce more girls to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
The all-girls programming contest and workshop featured students in grades six through 12 and included more than 300 students and teachers from a total of 47 middle schools and high schools from across the region.
The Feb. 13 virtual competition was presented by the Dallas Fort Worth Computer Science Teachers Association. ....
