BURTON, MI Burton City Councilman Dennis O’Keefe is resigning from his position after a change in family health circumstances, he announced May 3.
“My wife has had some health issues for the last three years,” O’Keefe said. “They are very serious. . The family and I have discussed this my wife is home now. This is going to preclude me from my council duties. I think the best thing for me to do at this time is resign immediately.
“This is one of the hardest things I have ever done because I have never quit anything in my entire life. I sure wish I could see my term out to November but it is just impossible.” ....
