(WTOC) - The University of South Carolina Beaufort has been invited to join the Peach Belt Conference after a unanimous vote by the conference’s board of directors, according to a release. “We are thrilled to welcome USC Beaufort to the Peach Belt Conference,” said Dr. Richard Cosentino, president of Lander University and chair of the PBC Board of Directors. “I am also happy to have another school from our state of South Carolina in the conference and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship.” ....

In Flagler’s first-ever visit to Hickory they came away with a one-run win in game one, 3-2 and an extra-inning win in the nightcap, 6-4. In game one, Flagler wasted no time scoring two runs in the first inning but the Bears cut the lead in half with an RBI double by Lauren Rakes in the second inning. Flagler got what ended up being the winning run on a throwing error by LR with two outs in the top of the 3rd. ....
DAHLONEGA Parker Morrison struck out 13 Patriots as the University of North Georgia baseball team opened up the Peach Belt series with Francis Marion with a 5-2 win Saturday evening at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. FMU got on the scoreboard in the top half of the first as Leniel Gonzalez homered to left field to give the Patriots a 1-0 win. North Georgia answered in the bottom of the frame by tying the game up on a bases loaded walk to Jake Arnold. The Nighthawks then took the lead in the same frame on a wild pitch and a two RBI double from Brady Eeles, making the score, 4-1. ....
