A Paedophile exposed in undercover police operation

A paedophile was caught by undercover police officers after he used social media to send inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old.
Neil Ellis, 56, sent messages and images of a sexual nature to a school boy called ‘Jay’ on Grinder, between November 28 and December 12 2019.
In the messages, Ellis invited the teenager to his house in West Street, Huntingdon, to engage in sexual activity.
He also asked the boy to send photos and gave him a phone number so he could send him inappropriate videos.
The boy, who was in fact an undercover officer, reminded Ellis on a number of occasions that he was just 14. ....

A man from March who was caught with a knife in public following reports that someone had been threatened in the area has been sentenced.
Jack Banyard, 21, was with friends in Broad Street in the early hours of September 12 when he was stopped and searched by officers.
The search followed reports someone had been threatened in the area. Banyard handed a paring knife to officers and was arrested. ....

A burglar who received a second chance from a court judge, allowing her to walk free, stole cash from a woman in her 60s just three days later.
Melanie Askew, 41, was handed a suspended sentence on September 16 last year after admitting two burglaries in High Barns, Ely, in June 2020.
Three days later she walked into a home in the same road through an unlocked front door. ....
