The SAU 13 Joint Board accepted Nadeauâs resignation via Zoom at a special meeting Wednesday night.
SAU 13 covers elementary schools in Freedom, Madison and Tamworth. The SAU office is in Tamworth.
Nadeau, who lives in Lee with husband, Travis, and their two daughters, Delaney, 14 and Teagan, 12, was hired by the SAU 21 Joint Board on May 5.
SAU 21 includes the school districts of Hampton Falls, North Hampton, Seabrook, South Hampton and Winnacunnet, and has been headed by interim superintendent Caroline Arakelian over the past school year.
In her resignation letter dated May 10, Nadeau wrote: âPlease accept my resignation from the role of SAU 13 superintendent effective June 30, 2021. Before the pandemic, my daily commute was just part to my routine. The pandemic has caused me to think differently about the time I have left with my children at home, and an additional 1.5 hours per day will be significant over the next few years.

Outdoor classrooms and nature-based schools picked up new followers during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the enthusiasm is continuing beyond the necessities of the pandemic. New outdoor classroom enterprises are underway at Peterborough Elementary School, and a new nature preschool is set to open in Peterborough this September, while the lessons learned during the pandemic bolstered Robin’s Nest Nature Preschool.

The successes of outdoor learning this fall encouraged the Peterborough Elementary School PTO to fund more permanent outdoor learning opportunities, PTO Vice President Mackenzie Nichols said. Peterborough Elementary School students are about to start fundraising for an outdoor classroom by pledging acts of kindness. The fundraiser, called the Raise Craze, has each participating student make their own list of different acts of kindness to do over a two-week span, such as writing a thank-you note to first responders or donating a care package for the homeless. They then ask for sponsors to donate to their cause, and “pay it forward,” organizer Andrea Petrone said, by completing the acts of kindness on the honor system.
