PHOENIX — Will the flash of the red-light cameras in Phoenix be activated again?
In January of 2020, Mayor Kate Gallego had called a Work Study Session to discuss a proposed methodology to evaluate, identify, and select locations for red-light cameras, and the current procurement of a new contract.
According to city officials, there are 1,150 signalized intersections in Phoenix. Each year, these intersections saw an average of 1,520 red-light running crashes. Those crashes took the lives of nearly 90 people per year on average. ....

PHOENIX Every day thousands of Arizonans hit the roads in the Valley, but all too often they don t make it home. 
Phoenix ranks third among U.S. cities in total fatalities on its streets, behind Los Angeles and Houston. 
The Maricopa Association of Governments has put out a list of the 100 most dangerous intersections. The list was complied using data between 2015 and 2019, and takes into account the number of crashes and severity.  ....

URISA is pleased to announce the Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Awards process for 2021. This year marks the milestone 40th Anniversary of URISA ESIG Awards, which recognize extraordinary achievements in the use of geospatial information technology that have improved the delivery and quality of government services.
The award competition is open to all public agencies at the national/federal, state/provincial, regional, and local levels. Winners will be recognized during the Awards Luncheon on October 5 during GIS-Pro 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland. Submissions are invited in two categories:
