Beaver County nonprofits receive Duquesne Light Company grants

PITTSBURGH Duquesne Light Co. has announced the first group of microgrant recipients through its Community Impact Grants (CIG) program, the new signature initiative of DLC’s Charitable Giving arm. The company is awarding $100,000 among 22 grassroots nonprofits across Allegheny and Beaver counties to support efforts in connectivity and technology, public art and green spaces.
The organizations from Beaver County who received grants were:
Beaver County YMCA;
Best Friends Inc. of Beaver Falls;
Crop & Kettle of Ambridge;
Neighborhood North: Museum of Play in Beaver Falls;
Beaver County Regional Council of Governments in support of RiverWise

Larson Design Group (LDG) is honored to once again earn recognition from one of the most prestigious industry groups for the fields of architecture, engineering and consulting. LDG received two awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) during its annual Diamond Awards for Engineering Excellence on Jan. 28 – one that highlights excellent communication of a project and one recognizing LDG’s efforts toward a diverse and inclusive workplace.
LDG was awarded the Best Panel Design Award for Communication of Engineering Excellence, which recognizes the best photographic display panel submitted as an entry in the Diamond Awards competition. This award promotes the communication of engineering excellence by creating displays that are both visually exciting and stimulating to read, as well as promoting the achievements of the engineering profession. ....
