The Havre Chamber of Commerce is reminding people of road closures Saturday during the inaugural Bear Paw Marathon.
The Chamber is advising anyone who uses Montana Secondary Highway 234 - Beaver Creek Highway - that the southbound lane will be shut down from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. from Butte Road to Sucker Creek Road. A pilot car will lead traffic on the north bound lane. People should expect delays.
This may affect commute times and The Chamber asks that everyone plan accordingly. Road closures are to ensure the safety of the runners. ....

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has begun its annual stocking of fisheries around the area with trout and walleye, and more is expected to be completed in the coming month.
They just yesterday started stocking a lot of the small ponds in Blaine County with catchables and fingerlings, FWP fisheries biologist Cody Nagel said Wednesday. And I m assuming there s still some more fish coming over because we stock Faber Reservoir every year, as well. ....

Hill County Public Health Director Kim Larson said a good chance exists that the recent rescinding of statewide public health mandates by Gov. Greg Gianforte will result in a surge in cases, but couldn’t speak to its severity and encouraged everyone to continue to be careful not to spread the virus.
Gianforte’s new mandate eliminated former Gov. Steve Bullocks requirement including on business capacity, that restaurants, bars, breweries, distilleries and casinos close by 10 p.m. and that public gatherings be limited to 25 people, but Gianforte kept mask requirements in place. ....

One of the more remarkable stories of the year is that of the St. Mary Diversion and it s 22-week-long repair after experiencing a catastrophic failure back in May.
Nearly all involved with the effort called it a remarkable example of teamwork and inter-organizational cooperation in a year plagued by social isolation.
