Jeff Jones is the Red Wolves’ new Assistant Athletics Director for Athletics Performance, coming back to A-State where he was the top assistant in the strength and conditioning department in 2012. He’s also worked at Boise State, Auburn, Luther College, Appalachian State, and Fairfield, Iowa High School. He joined “The Drive with Brad Bobo” Monday afternoon to give us a look at his career, and his plans for the Red Wolves in 2021. ....
Tennessee fires Jeremy Pruitt, 2 assistants after internal investigation By The Athletic Staff 61 Comments Tennessee has fired coach Jeremy Pruitt after an internal investigation into the football program s compliance uncovered a significant number of serious NCAA rules violations, the school said Monday. Assistant coaches Shelton Felton (outside linebackers) and Brian Niedermayer (inside linebackers) have also been fired for cause, the school said. Pruitt s attorney, Michael Lyons, issued a statement to Stadium on Monday evening saying that the decision to fire Pruitt was orchestrated. “The timing of the University’s actions and decision appear to be preordained and more about financial convenience and expediency than a fair and complete factual determination by the University,” Lyons said. ....
