New Delhi: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Wedenday informed that redevelopment of New Delhi railway station has been taken up on Public Private Partnership mode. The cost of the project, which will transform the station to world-class multi-modal hub, is estimated as Rs 5,000 crores. Nine major global and domestic companies including GMR Highways, Adani Railways and realtor Omaxe are in the race to bag the redevelopment project the station. ....

The Centre on Wednesday said that redevelopment of New Delhi railway station has been taken up on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode at an estimated cost Rs 5,000 crore.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that the facilities proposed include congestion-free non-conflicting entry/exits to the station premises, segregation of arrival/departure of passengers, adequate concourse area without overcrowding, integration of both sides of the city, and integration with other modes of transport systems.
Well illuminated circulating area and sufficient provision for drop off, pick up and parking has been proposed. Request for Qualification (RFQ) has been opened on February 2, he said. ....

New Delhi, Feb 3 : The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has opened request for qualification (RFQ) bids for redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station in which nine international and national companies have participated, officials said on Wednesday.
