Not too late to congratulate President - NPP urges Mahama

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged former President John Dramani to congratulate President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on winning the 2020 presidential election.
“It is not too late for Mr John Mahama to call President Akufo-Addo, whose emphatic 2020 election victory has been affirmed by the Supreme Court, to congratulate him.
“It is on account of this that the NPP is calling on the former President to do the needful in the collective interest of our nation,” it stated in a statement signed by its General Secretary, Mr John Boadu.
It urged Mr Mahama, who was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2020 presidential candidate, to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 2020 Election Petition as a mark of statesmanship and fidelity to the rule of law, even if he disagreed with the judgment. ....

Road projects will continue - Former Tema East MP assures

A Former Member of Parliament for Tema East, Mr Nii Kwatei Titus Glover of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), last Thursday assured residents that all ongoing road construction projects initiated in the Tema East Municipality would continue, even though he lost the seat.
“Despite losing the seat during the December 7, 2020 general election, I still feel that there is the need to continue the road construction project initiated with the support of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2019 in the Tema East Municipality,” he stated.
“The inner roads construction will continue due to the relationship I have with my people. That is why I always go around to supervise those road construction projects and to also support President Akufo-Addo’s declaration of 2021 as the year of roads again,” the former MP said. ....

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akatsi South, Mr Leo Nelson Adzidogah, has appealed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to investigate the issues raised against him by some constituency executive members of the party in the municipality.
Mr Adzidogah, who contested in the 2020 general election as a parliamentary candidate for Akatsi South, made the appeal in a statement in reaction to calls by the three aggrieved constituency executive members to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to re-nominate him as the MCE for the area.
He said an investigative team would ascertain all the facts after the petitioners failed to use the laid-down structures of the party to address their grievances and chose to publicly address the issues. ....

The aide to the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has debunked claims that the national leadership of the party did not give Professor Mike Oquaye the needed support in the Speaker of Parliament elections held on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Alhaji Iddi Muhayu-Deen said the party provided enough support and did a lot of work in the interest of the party regarding the elections.
His comment is in reaction to claims by the party’s Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency, Eugene Boakye Antwi that Prof. Oquaye’s defeat should be blamed on the national leadership of the NPP. ....

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says its performance in the Central Region in last year s elections was creditable despite losing nine of its parliamentary seats to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The Central Regional Secretary of the party, Mr Richard Takyi Mensah, said the party s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, won decisively with over 52 per cent of the valid votes in the region, calling it “an impressive performance by all standards”.
He said it was obvious that the people of the region were impressed with the performance of the NPP government, its policies and programmes, and were ready to give it four more years to govern. ....
