USDA Rural Development accepting applications for renewable energy systems : Biofuels Digest

REAP projects strengthen American energy independence by providing funding to eligible applicants to make energy efficiency improvements or install renewable energy systems for their operations.
Eligible applicants include agricultural producers and rural small for profit businesses. Applicants may apply for funding to purchase and install renewable energy systems such as solar, wind, geothermal, renewable biomass, hydro-power, hydrogen or anaerobic digesters. Energy efficiency improvements outlined in an energy audit or assessment which reduce energy consumption on an annual basis may include improvements such as: heating ventilation and conditioning (HVAC), lighting, refrigeration, computerized controls or variable frequency drives, irrigation systems and grain dryers. ....

Applications are now open for the
REAP Energy Audit and Renewable Energy Development Assistance Program to assist rural small businesses and agricultural producers by conducting and promoting energy audits and providing Renewable Energy Development Assistance (REDA).
The maximum aggregate amount of an energy audit and REDA grant in a Federal fiscal year is $100,000.
Eligible Project Costs
Salaries directly related to the project.
Travel expenses directly related to conducting energy audits or renewable energy development assistance.
Office supplies.
Administrative expenses, up to a maximum of 5 per cent of the grant, which includes but are not limited to utilities, office space, operation expenses of the office and other project-related equipment. ....
