Freed of EMCO, residents put hopes on vaccination

PETALING JAYA: City dwellers are calling for Covid-19 vaccinations to go into top gear to allow for the economy to open up sooner and travel to resume.

KLANG: Employers are concerned that their foreign workers who tested negative during the compulsory Covid-19 screening, could become positive a few days after that.
Given the rapid increase in daily cases in various states, especially the Klang Valley, they hope there is something that can be done to address this concern.
“We are in a Catch 22 where we can get our workers screened today and the results are negative but what can we do if they become Covid-19 positive several days down the road?’’ asked Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar managing director Burhan Mohamed.
He said employers of foreign workers were all compelled by the government to compulsorily screen their workers but there were no back-up plans for later developments. ....
