Ranshaw announces bid for re-election in 4th magisterial district

The newest member of Pulaski County Fiscal Court announced Monday that he is running for a second term.
District 4 Magistrate Mark Ranshaw posted the news on his personal and official Facebook pages.
Saying he s tried to help the district to the best of his abilities, Ranshaw noted that he learned to drive a tractor, patch potholes and use a pole saw in order to help maintain the roads in District 4 during the COVID-19 shutdown.

Last week s meeting of Pulaski County Fiscal Court was particularly eventful.
Following the approval of interlocal agreements with the City of Somerset as well a new voting machines, county officials also needed to address a number of housekeeping motions for the final meeting before the beginning of the new fiscal year today (July 1).
Magistrates first accepted the 2021-22 salary schedule and all 2021-22 bids received. Later during Treasurer Joan Isaacs departmental report, the court approved the second reading of the 2021-22 budget ordinance. ....

Pulaski County officials have selected the Verity system, made by Hart Intercivic, will include 25 scanners to handle paper ballots and 15 DUO standalone machines which are handicap-accessible.

(TNS) Pulaski County will be getting its first new voting machines in about a dozen years.
Members of the Pulaski County Fiscal Court approved last Tuesday the sole bid received from Harp Enterprises and presented by election coordinator Mark Vaught on behalf of the local board of elections.
Harp s total bid came to $264,949 about $10,000 under what the county budgeted. The figure dropped to just over $260,000 once it was determined the county could save $4,935 by recycling the old machines through the local recycling center. ....
