Halifax Health's Daytona Beach Shores urgent care center opens July 1

Halifax Health s urgent care center in Daytona Beach Shores, the only facility of its kind on the beachside, will officially open for business on July 1, according to the city.
Until then, the hospital system will complete training for staff members, install equipment and perfect practices, according to hospital spokesman John Guthrie.
The new facility, which is called ExpressCare, has created an additional 10 jobs in the Daytona Beach Shores community, according to the hospital system.
Halifax Health is committed to increasing access to health care for everyone in the area, said Halifax Health President and CEO Jeff Feasel in an emailed statement. By working with the City of Daytona Beach Shores we have been able to do that on the beachside with this newest ExpressCare. In addition to the Daytona Beach Shores location, we will have ExpressCare in Port Orange, Ormond Beach and Deltona.” ....

Construction begins at future Halifax Health urgent care in DBS

Work on the future site of Halifax Health s urgent care center in Daytona Beach Shores began recently, a little over a year after the City Council unanimously approved the lease agreement, according to hospital officials.
The south side of the city s former senior center has been demolished while the north side is being refurbished by Halifax Health.
Once construction and updates are completed, Halifax Health will begin a 20-year lease of the 3,100- square-foot building at 3048 S. Atlantic Ave.
Since 2017, there has been a lack of urgent care services on the beachside after Hurricane Irma caused irreparable damage to Florida Hospital Oceanside in Ormond Beach. The former hospital was demolished in the summer of 2019. ....
