Earth Science Laboratories expands with new General Manager for Agriculture

Earth Science Laboratories (ESL) has welcomed a new member to their management team. Matt Quist joined ESL in March as the General Manager of the Agricultural Division. Quist now leads a team using ESL’s unique platform chemistry to develop products for agricultural water treatment, crop nutrition and disease control.
Quist has over 17 years of experience in the agriculture industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and Crop Science and a master’s in Plant Sciences from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona along with certifications as a Professional Agronomist, Crop Advisor, and Agricultural Pest Control Advisor. He has previously held positions as a research horticulturist, agronomist, and most recently as the National Director of Agronomic Solutions for Wilbur-Ellis. ....

New blended acid solution formula for zinc available from Earth Science Labs as EDTA shortage threatens corn crops

A new blended acid solution for formulating zinc and other critical micronutrients has become available amidst EDTA shortages caused by the recent deep freeze on the Gulf Coast.

Earth Science Laboratories (ESL) has developed a new blended acid solution for formulating zinc and other micronutrients. The new solution can replace EDTA and is now available to agrochemical formulators hit by the recent shortage of EDTA. The solution can help formulators meet demand for high-quality liquid micronutrients such as zinc, especially as the planting season for zinc-hungry corn crops rapidly approaches.
The EDTA shortage is the result of damages at manufacturing facilities caused by the recent deep freeze in Gulf Coast states. The outages have moved major petrochemical companies such as Dow Chemicals to declare force majeure on multiple chemicals, including EDTA.
