Benton County has received reports of a vaccine scam alert. Individuals are receiving phone calls from someone identifying themselves as “Misty” calling from the Benton County Fairgrounds and telling individuals that they are confirming their appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Benton County Event Center & Fairgrounds does not call individuals to schedule or confirm COVID-19 vaccination appointments. If you receive a call or voicemail identical or similar to the scenario described above, hang up and report the scammer to the Sheriff’s Office at 541-766-6858. If you are unsure if a real vaccine scheduler is contacting you, call the Benton County COVID-19 Phone Bank at 541-766-6120. ....

Benton County and Samaritan Health Services are partnering to host another round of mass COVID-19 vaccinations at Reser Stadium on the Oregon State University campus on Thursday, March 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, March 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday’s clinic will administer first doses of the Pfizer vaccine to currently eligible individuals. Friday’s clinic will administer second doses of the Moderna vaccine. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are not interchangeable.
Currently the Moderna vaccine is only approved for use in adults 18 and older. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the Moderna vaccine under an emergency use authorization (EUA) in December 2020. More information about Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine can be found on the EUA fact sheet. ....

FEMA awards $3M to Benton County for mass vaccination clinics
Reser Stadium has been a site of mass vaccination clinics in Benton County.
The funding will help the county administer a large number of vaccines as soon as the supply is available, officials said.

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Benton County will be receiving millions in federal funding to support COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved $3,116,229 for the efforts.
County officials said the money will be allocated to the State of Oregon, which is responsible for directing the funds to them.
“We have been in some level of emergency response for over a year and the ability to receive expedited reimbursement for expenses will be integral for our ongoing success,” said Bryan Lee, Director for the Benton County Emergency Operations Center. ....
