Scientists may soon solve Amelia Earhart s disappearance with a nuclear reactor. Could an 83-year-old mystery soon come to an end?
The collaboration brings scientists and enthusiasts together toward a shared goal: solving the mystery of Amelia Earhart s disappearance.

Scientists at Penn State University have a new plan to help unearth clues about Amelia Earhart’s doomed flight around the world and it involves a nuclear reactor.
On July 2, 1937, Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, were en route to Howland Island in the Pacific, about 1,700 miles southwest of Honolulu. They were six weeks and 20,000 miles deep into their trip around the world. By then, Earhart had already become the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and from Hawaii t ....

One of the bravest women of the 20th century, Amelia Earhart, vanished unexpectedly during her attempt to fly around the world. Now, scientists have turned to nuclear technology to analyze a piece of metal debris that some suspect was part of Earhart’s wrecked plane. In doing so, they hope to piece together the final moments of the pioneering aviator’s final living hours.
A tragic end to a brave pioneer
Amelia Earhart was the first female pilot to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1937, Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, were flying their Lockheed Model 10-E Electra on an even more ambitious quest: flying around the world. On July 2, 1937, they were about six weeks and 20,000 miles into their journey when their plane suddenly crashed en route to Howland Isl ....

Unearthing Clues of Amelia Earhart s Disappearance
According to Popular Mechanics, scientists from the Penn State University will use particle physics in order to test whether a piece of metal that was found by Ric Gillespie in 1991 is indeed a part of Earhart s Lockheed Model 10-E Electra. ....
