WGAL News 8 Updated: 12:19 PM EST Mar 9, 2021 More Pennsylvania state park campsites will be available for anglers looking to trout fish.The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources released the following statement: Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn announced campsites will be available at an additional 16 state parks to accommodate fishing enthusiasts who want to stay overnight on April 2 for the new statewide trout opener the following day. Campsites at an additional 16 state parks will be available for trout anglers on Friday, April 2, allowing them to stay overnight in advance of the new statewide trout fishing season opening day on Saturday, April 3, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced today.
More than 2,300 campsites at 34 state parks will be available.
“We know how trout fishing and state park camping often go hand in hand and we are doing our best to facilitate these traditional recreational pursuits,” said Cindy Adams Dunn, secretary of DCNR.
