Spring is in the air

With spring just around the corner we will all be busy getting ready for a fresh start. I have already heard from people that they are stocking up on their seeds and will be ready to start planting when the time is right. It s been a while since I personally had a garden where broccoli was the vegetable that grew in great abundance. Needless to say we had our fill of broccoli that year, along with carrots, lettuce and tomatoes.
I wanted to grow asparagus, but learned that you need a couple of years or more before you can actually grow this vegetable so that you can eat it. It seems the first year or so you can grow it, but can t eat it just yet. I of course don t have the patience to wait that long to enjoy the benefits. Needless to say, I love finding it in the grocery store and buy it often. I tried pumpkins one year, and got only two out of the seeds I planted. Two is a good start, and if I didn t move and got to continue with this garden I would have had better results eac ....

Barn Dance making a comeback

Paul Selina, chair of the Barn Dance, said the community is really keen to put on the event and keep the music going.
We feel that with the draw that the festival brought that Pemberton has made its mark as a place that can host a successful musical event It s just a great venue, a great environment for an open-air music festival in Pemberton - we just want to continue that, really, Selina said.
Robert Meilleur, president of the Pemberton Lions Club and the Lions representative for the Barn Dance, said the event has been a big draw and a wonderful event in the past, and the opportunity exists to step things up to make the Barn Dance more like the Pemberton Festival was, and hopefully will be again in the future, he added. ....
