More than four in five people aged 70 and over in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and west Berkshire have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.
NHS data shows 294,067 people had received their first jab by February 7, an increase of 28 per cent from January 31.
Of those, 189,522 were aged 70 or over – equating to 83 per cent of the population in that age group, according to the latest estimates from the Office for National Statistics. ....

A NEW intensive care unit containing 48 beds could be built at the John Radcliffe Hospital, providing a huge boost to the number of seriously ill patients it can accommodate.
The planned 48 bed unit, built as a new five-storey building on the hospital site, would triple the number of ICU beds in Oxford.
According to the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust website, there are currently 16 dedicated adult ICU beds at the hospital, out of a total of 24 in the city alongside others in the Churchill Hospital. ....
