(LEX 18) â On Wednesday, Commonwealth Credit Union, in partnership with Make-A-Wish-Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, unveiled the region s first Make-A-Wish Toy Closet. The toy closet is located at the credit unionâs Hamburg Branch. âTo watch a child enter the Wish program, receive treatment, and then graduate to lead a life where they are not only surviving but thriving, is what Bettering Lives is all about,â said Karen Harbin, Commonwealth Credit Union President/CEO. âAs the 2021 Wish Chair, I am thrilled that we can provide a home for the toys that start these children on their Wish journey.â ....

They say Rob Mulford, owner of Mojos and Market Street Inn, contributed dozens of toys to the closet with the help of other businesses like McClean Mortgage, Herl’s Bath and Tile, Pemberton Appliance, and Salisbury Brick. Brooke’s Toy Closet was established by Rob Mulford’s 12-year-old daughter named Brooke, who passed away due to neuroblastoma in 2017. The goal of the closet is to provide children in the hospital with a toy of their choice to comfort them while they’re a patient. ....
